Thusday September 3, 2009

Worrying is the same thing as banging your head against the wall. It only feels good when you stop.

Good Morning Sister W.W.F.F.
Do you ever feel as if your just banging your head against the wall when it comes to your weight loss adventure? Could be the scale is not showing us the numbers we want to see, maybe your just bored to tears with the food your eating. There are no double a million and one reason at times we feel as if we are just banging our heads against the wall.
For instance, we work really hard to lost weight, we are looking really good. Could be the first year in a long time that you actually felt good in a bathing suit and wasn't afraid to be seen on the beach in one. Then comes the food, we worry about what we are choosing, but oh my there are those most amazing waffles on that breakfast buffet. So we will try just a little. Then we go sightseeing, or shopping, hey we are getting in activity points, as is our visa card. Then its lunchtime, another buffet, and even if we are still pretty well full from the big ole breakfast we had, the lunch buffet is just to die for. So we belly up to the buffet and go at it again. By now I am in a stupor, I need a nap, yes, I take naps on my vacation. Then after my nap, have to have a snack, I had to have burned up some calories while napping. Oh wow, ice cream........have not had that for awhile, "I'll have one scoop, but don't stop with that one scoop until I tell you too." Maybe another stroll on the beach until dinner time. By now we are feeling a bit bloated, but we squeeze ourselves into that cute little number we got just for this trip. The whole time, during dinner, we are eating like we just finished picking cotton on a five thousand acre plantation, oh and lets not forget the drinking, during the whole time we are telling ourselves, ''tomorrow I will do better.''
We have all done exactly what I have described at some point at time and it is like banging our heads against a wall. Does not solve a thing. So if you are fortunate enough to get a vacation, I say enjoy it and if you want to over indulge that is fine, but just not every meal and every minute. The world won't end just because you were not the model poster child for Weight Watchers, and no need to beat yourself up for enjoying yourself.
You can get back on track, but if there is a vacation you are getting to enjoy, then enjoy it, you don't want to come home feeling deprived cause most times that can cause even a bigger problem.
